Dalyce Woods
My name is Dalyce Woods. I am from the Gitxsan Nation, raised in Gitanmaax and currently living in New Hazelton. A member of the Lax Seel Clan from Wilps Gyet’m Galdo’o. I am the oldest child of Tracey Woods & Ed Patsey. I was one of the privileged grandchildren who got to grow up with my grandparents (Mel & Audrey Woods) who spoke the language around us and to us daily. They taught us a lot about the Gitxsan Culture and language.
My background is mostly in Early Childhood Education with my ECE Diploma (special needs & infant toddler). My only goal after getting my education was to come back to my home community and work for our own people. My most recent achievement I received was my diploma in the Gitxsan Language & Culture through University of Northern British Columbia.
I do have some experience in an office setting so when I seen the opportunity to work at the Gitxsan Lax Yip Management office I jumped at the opportunity. I look forward to gaining more skills and knowledge in the office field. I am excited to have joined the team at Gitxsan Lax Yip Management Office, and to be a part of the team that builds a strong foundation for the organization, while instilling the Gitxsan values and protocols into the way information is shared out to the Simgigyat and communities.
